The p2p story
passport2progress (p2p) is our digital career development toolkit created for businesses that want to grow and develop their people from within. Affordable and easy to implement, p2p equips employees with the structure and tools to take charge of their development and approach manager conversations with clarity about their future inside the business.
Created by our founder, Susan Binnersley, who has over 21 years’ experience helping organisations in the STEM sector thrive through their people, p2p was designed to support employers in nurturing and retaining their people by focusing on career development opportunities for their existing employees.
Research shows that 41% of employees would stay longer with an organisation that promotes from within (Oliver). By getting employees to focus on their internal career options, p2p makes them more likely to stay, reducing costly turnover.
How does it work?
p2p works by helping employees to explore multiple career options within their current organisation through a structured four-stage journey – Anchor, Accelerate, Aspire, Achieve – so they gain clarity, build meaningful skills, and take ownership of their development.
The four-stage journey – from now to the future.
Anchor
Where am I now?
Employees start with guided self-assessments to understand their working style, strengths, and motivators. Getting immediate insight into what drives them and building their self-awareness.
Accelerate
What do I need right now?
Employees set goals and pinpoint priorities from self-assessment insights. These insights are transformed into personalised development goals.
Aspire
Where do I want to go?
Employees map out career paths based on their strengths and values, not guesswork. Helping take ownership of their next steps.
Achieve
Make it happen.
p2p provides realistic, actionable plans, plus learning content, coaching resources, and accountability tools to transform ambition into results.
p2p tackles a common challenge for employers:
How do you create a culture where employees take ownership of their career development, so career conversations aren’t left to chance, but become purposeful, future-focused discussions that strengthen engagement, performance, and retention?
Research shows that 70% of UK employees feel more engaged when they have opportunities for personal learning and career development (Birmingham City University). p2p equips employees to come prepared with clarity about their strengths, aspirations, and next steps. Helping managers lead conversations that truly make an impact.

Investing in people from within isn’t just good for employees—it’s smart business. p2p can help develop people internally, reducing turnover, improving performance, and driving sustainable growth.
Replacing an employee in the UK costs up to £30,000 when recruitment, onboarding, and lost productivity are included (Oxford Economics).
Developing talent from within is more affordable and sustainable than relying on external hires. p2p helps employers identify and nurture future leaders internally, protecting against both skills shortages and recruitment fees.
Key Questions about p2p
Access to p2p is as simple and only requires an employee’s email to create a login for them. We always suggest that each employee attends an orientation webinar to understand how the platform works – and get the most from it!
A p2p subscription starts from £228 per employee, per subscription. We offer a range of packages to suit an organisation’s needs, with options that include 1:1 coaching programmes, career development and performance workshops and train the trainer options if you want to develop an in-house p2p expert. We also offer volume discounts for businesses that want to provide p2p to more than 5 of their employees.
The p2p toolkit is a scalable, affordable solution that could suit any size of business.
We’ve designed p2p to be user-friendly and intuitive, but we are available to contact if there are questions. We can also tailor e-learning resources if there are any specific business needs (like developing next level of leaders or supporting through organisational change). We always recommend attending an orientation webinar with one of our core h2h team to help employees understand how to get the most from it.
Too often, employees arrive at career conversations unprepared—leaving managers to guess their ambitions or fall back on the tired “Where do you want to be in 5 years?” question. p2p changes that. As a self-directed online career toolkit, it helps employees identify their strengths, preferences, and career options, so they come to conversations with clarity and a plan. This makes discussions more focused, productive, and purposeful—helping managers support development with confidence and impact.
