Why company values matter and how our h2h values influence us everyday?

When we work with our customers, we invest time at the start of any project considering their values. So, why do we place so much emphasis on this? Essentially the values of an organisation underpin how the company operates both internally and externally.  They are the guiding principles that help us to understand the culture, behaviours, and business processes within an organisation.

Well-defined values play an integral part in everything that the business does from attraction and recruitment of new talent through to successful teamwork, collaboration and ultimately separation.  The impact of this can also been seen in increased employee engagement, retention, and productivity.  Values are often what sets a business apart from other organisations in the same sector and can help to build reputation and trust with clients and key stakeholders alike.

In h2h we apply the same techniques to ourselves as we do when working externally with our loyal customer base. We have recently reviewed and refreshed our values so that they are both current and relevant, can be readily understood by our core and wider team, and as such shape how and why we do business.

Integrity

The nature of the work that we do is sometimes sensitive, often confidential, and always people focused. Against this backdrop, it is vital that we operate with integrity so that we can establish trust, respect and credibility with our customers. We need this so we can really get down to the nuts and bolts of any issue and design a solution that will be both high impact and long lasting.

Integrity helps us to uphold the high standards and ethical principles we believe in and enables our people to take ownership of their actions, work collaboratively as part of the team and contribute to the long-term success of both h2h and the organisations in our customer base.

Belonging

We operate in a supportive environment where our colleagues tell us they feel respected, included and empowered to do their best work. In h2h, everyone’s contributions are valued, and we share these on a regular basis at our weekly team meeting. Belonging at work helps us to connect with one another and to connect with our purpose – to propel business success through the game changing development of people and their organisations.

We have a strong commitment to psychological safety and at any h2h led event we always aim to create a healthy, inclusive and safe space where delegates can bring their authentic selves to each session and effectively participate in both individual and group activities. Enjoyment

Our h2h purpose is to make working lives better and this sometimes requires difficult and challenging conversations/assignments with customers and their employees. To operate at this level, we have to be creative, highly motivated, engaged and solution focussed.

Prioritising enjoyment in what we do helps us to create a positive and supportive work environment and culture at base camp. Courage

Having courage is an essential part of what we do – going into another business and being an honest, critical and trusted friend.  Here, courage enables us to navigate challenges, embrace change, and pursue innovation. Our consultants and employees have to step outside their comfort zones and encourage others to do the same when required.
